Day 268 and 269: Hosea 8-14 and Joel, September 19th and 20th, 2023
Joel 2
23 Be glad, O children of Zion,
and rejoice in the Lord your God,
for He has given you the autumn rains
for your vindication.
He sends you showers,
both autumn and spring rains, as before.
24 The threshing floors will be full of grain,
and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
25 I will repay you for the years eaten by locusts—
the swarming locust, the young locust,
the destroying locust, and the devouring locust —
My great army that I sent against you.
26 You will have plenty to eat,
until you are satisfied.
Day 267: Hosea 1-7, September 18th, 2023
Hosea 1
2 When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, He told him, “Go, take a prostitute as your wife and have children of adultery, because this land is flagrantly prostituting itself by departing from the Lord.” 3 So Hosea went and married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
Day 265 and 266: Daniel 7-12, September 16th and 17th, 2023
Daniel 9
1 In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes, a Mede by descent, who was made ruler over the kingdom of the Chaldeans — 2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the sacred books, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. 3 So I turned my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and petition, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
